The Alcuin College Committee is currently appealing for a goose on the loose. The goose was last seen entertaining guests at The Lemon Press’s Christmas Party on the evening of 12 December.
The Alcuin Goose came to be after he was abandoned by a student who could not take him home due to stringent airline regulations. Out of the College’s kindness, the Goose was permitted to stay in the old Alcuin Vedge Café. Alcuin students have been enjoying the goose’s company ever since – at least until the goose went missing from the premises on that fateful Thursday night last December.
Alcuin students have expressed concern about the whereabouts of the beloved bird, with recent Tweets including “where tf is the alcuin goose?? best thing in the college has now gone smh”
Max Kerslake, a Technical Operations Officer at Alcuin College Committee said in a statement:
“Here in Alcuin, we take the safety and security of displaced anatidae very seriously. We are appealing for anyone with information as to the Goose’s whereabouts to contact us. As the Goose is subject to his own free will, we cannot enforce his safe return to Alcuin College.
“However, for the benefit of our students, we are keen to welcome the goose back to his home in Alcuin Vedge. We will not engage in further lines of enquiry if the Goose turns up in the venue, so long as he is in one piece.
“If anyone has information, we kindly ask that you contact guese@alcuincollege.com quoting case reference number 46673.”
