Are you an up-and-coming performer looking to showcase your talent to the whole galaxy? Have you got that unique shine which can showcase the rich culture of our beautiful metal battle station? Is the Force with you? If you answered yes to any of these questions then we need you!
The Death Star’s Culture Minister Admiral Motti announced today a Galaxy wide initiative to help give young singers the chance to perform on the galaxy’s biggest international stage. Young candidates will first be selected from regional contests where they must perform an original song on the topic of ‘what the Death Star means to me’. Those who show promise in the regional tryouts will then graduate to national contests, then planetary. If you are one of the lucky winners of our planetary contests then you will fly on a new state of the art Imperial Star Destroyer to the Death Star itself where the final round of contests, and the chance to perform for Lord Vader himself, will take place.
Our lucky winner will have the honour of representing the Death Star at this year’s Eurovision song contest to be held in Zurich next year.
Previous submissions from the Death Star include: “Take me to your Death Star”, “Fly in the Tie Fighters of Love”, and “Force Choke Me Now”.
The Death Star has a point to prove, as anti-Imperial critics have pointed out that a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away does place us marginally outside of Europe. In addition, threats of a boycott from participating countries have been thrown around following the destruction of the planet of Alderaan and the ongoing military operations in Endor. Despite the adversity and blatant Rebel lies, the Death Star family hopes that its pool of talented musicians can produce our first ever win.
To enter, register online or report to your nearest regional Imperial Culture Centre.
